Nortel Networks

The IP Law group of Nortel Networks owns a patent database, but patent applications are still paper based, so searching through them took time. On top of that, different locations needed access to those applications.

With many security features in place, physical as well as procedural, Kovatec was awarded a contract to look after all patents. As Nortel also wanted to add their patents to the American national patent database, documents were scanned to PDF as well as to a text format.

Since Nortel has an internal company wide database, Kovatec would deliver a CD and a copy, the latter one for extra back up purposes.
